Dr. Ashley-Koch obtained her Doctorate degree in Genetics and Molecular Biology from Emory University and her Postdoctoral degree in Genetic Epidemiology from Duke University Medical Center.
As a Professor within CHDM until 2016, Dr. Ashley-Koch focused on the genetic basis of Psychiatric and Neurological Disorders and Complex Genetic Disorders with the primary goal to identify genes that contributed to human genetic disorders, including the identification of gene-gene and gene-environment interactions. She was also involved in studies to dissect the genetic etiology of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism, chiari type I malformations, essential tremor, and neural tube defects.
