Mateusz (Mati) Kedzior, Phd
Academic Highlights More Information
Dr. Kedzior obtained his Engineer degree (2010) and Master of Science degree (2011) in Biotechnology from Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences (Poland). In 2017, he was awarded the Doctorate degree in Biology from the University of Wroclaw (Poland). In his doctoral project, he focused primarily on the investigation of new possible defense mechanisms of Gram-negative pathogenic bacteria against the host immune system. Dr. Kedzior was able to reveal and characterize the inhibitory potential of several bacterial species on the lysosomal cysteine proteases involved in both innate and adaptive immune responses.
Dr. Kedzior is currently a Postdoctoral Associate whose research in our laboratory will focus on gene variants responsible for diverse disease phenotypes with hopes of gaining a more detailed insight into genetic disorders. He loves conducting experiments, which for him are not necessarily restricted to the laboratory space. He also enjoys experimenting in the kitchen with cake recipes, and is very much satisfied when others enjoy... eating the results of his work.
